Lions led by Donkeys (With apologies to all donkeys)
Lions in a trench, British and French, Shiver and bristle, And await the whistle, Over the top again, It was totally insane, Donkeys from public school, Totally unfit to rule, Political poltroons, Upper class loons. Brought senseless slaughter, Blood flowing like water, Fast forward one hundred years, The lions are the NHS staff in tears, The donkeys still public school, And still unfit to rule, The government were keen, To be seen, To contain Covid-19, So, with less than 10 dead, They tried to delay the spread, Into the community, By herd immunity,
Fast forward six weeks, And the Government speaks, Death will be our fate, So back to test, trace and isolate, In the care home, The staff search and comb, For any hidden PPE, Whilst they see, The old try. Not to die, The Government flaps, And on Thursdays claps, But cannot understand, Why as a nation, The percentage of the population, That have died and will die, From Covid-19, Will be seen, To have been, Higher than in other countries,
