Guest Poets

Hello, I’m Frankie Calvert; I’m quite new to performance-poetry. In my mind, it’s like doing a Turn in a Victorian Music Hall, which is why I like it. In the past, I have done bits and pieces of fringe and travelling-theatre and was half of a comedy Double Act. I also write novels and have had two published so far. Like many other so-called ‘artists,’ I actually have to earn a living too, haha! I have mainly done this in the strange twilight world of Theatre Box Office, from the midst of which I have also served as a Union Rep. Many of the characters we meet in the theatres are strongly reminiscent of those in my ‘Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens’ poem, including the vampire. Any similarity to any persons living, dead or un-dead, is NOT purely coincidental. Thank you to Mike for putting me on his website and to the techno-genius, Carl. Signing off now, Frankie.
