One Percent for Nurses
We stood every Thursday night,Clapping the nurses fight,With all our might,Against the blight,That was Covid 19,Which couldn’t be seen,But was keen,To be mean,With its rotten gene. Johnson is a sinister,Prime minister,After ten years of Tory rule,The nasty school,Is arrogantly cool,At being led by a baffling fool,A stubborn mule,A noisy stuttering ghoul,A fake jewel,Who thinks he can pull,The wool,Over our eyes,With his blatant lies, One per cent is not fair,But he doesn’t care,Just thinks he can dare,To wreck the lives of nurses,By emptying their purses,No good uttering curses,Without nurses,We will all be awaiting hearses. ©Michael Gold 2021
